 The wind is free .......

A wonderful feeling breezing along with the wind in our sails, and no particular place to go.

20 - 50 miles a day is a good distance to cover and still gives us plenty of time for a swim when we arrive and a trip ashore in the dinghy to explore in the evening or following morning. An interesting harbour or anchorage will usually lure us to stay another day, well there's no rush is there?

We have found in the Mediterranean that we do spend a fair amount of time motoring if there is a destination with a timescale but this is no problem with the quiet Perkins diesel engine.

Sundowner being solidly built and able to take the worst offshore conditions is a cruising and live aboard catamaran, she is heavy thus reducing her sailing speed to an average of 4 ½ to 5 knots making her ideal for novice sailors, young and old alike.

Beginners will enjoy learning to use the onboard equipment including GPS and hand held compass navigation on paper and electronic charts also radar in the summer showers and night passages if needed.
